Community Guiding
The Branch for the Community Guides focuses on encouraging girls and women from low income settlements, indigenous groups, premature school leavers, street children and children of wandering communities to be empowered as responsible citizens of their community and eventually in the country. The Community Guiding Companies are opened in partnership with a Community Based Organisation to ensure its growth and sustainability in the long term.
The SLGGA with the assistance of the Department of Probation and Child Care is in the process of initiating the Community Guide programme in institutions for homeless girls.
This branch constantly supports the young women who are a part of the society to develop themselves in a variety of areas. Whether it be indoor or outdoor activities, personal and professional development criteria or even if you simply want to have fun, community guiding could pave the way for you.
