The Poson Poya Day celebration at Apeksha Hospital by the Girl Guides and Leaders of the Colombo Zone was a heartwarming event that combined charitable giving with cultural enrichment. It exemplified the spirit of community service and highlighted the positive role of Girl Guides in making a difference in society.
The event included a donation of medicine and a Bakthi Gee performance. The funds for the medicines were raised through generous contributions from the Girl Guides of the zone. This donation aimed to support the hospital's efforts to provide medical care to patients in need. They further donated a book shelf and books with the aim of providing comfort, entertainment, and mental stimulation for the patients during their hospital stay.
Bakthi Gee a form of devotional song aimed not only to uplift the spirits of the patients and hospital staff but also to highlight the cultural significance of the day, promoting peace and spiritual well-being.
