Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association successfully concluded its 67th Annual General Meeting

The SLGGA successfully concluded its 67th Annual General Meeting on November 9, 2024, at the Jasmine Hall, BMICH.
The Chief Guest for the AGM was Ms Manoji Wadugodapitiya the Managing Director and Chairperson of Pams Hydro Power Private Limited and ‘Simply Women’ Organisation.
The President of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association, the Chief Commissioner, the Deputy Chief Commissioner, the Assistant Chief Commissioner, Past Presidents, Past Chief Commissioners, District Commissioners, Guide Leaders, Guides, Rangers, Little Friends, and Butterflies were present at the event.
SLGGA extends its heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing President, Dr. Shanthi Wilson, for her unwavering dedication, tireless effort, and invaluable time spent for the betterment of the Association. SLGGA also appreciates the dedicated services rendered by the outgoing Sector Commissioners.
SLGGA warmly congratulates the newly appointed President, Mrs. Swarnika Pitigala, and the newly appointed Sector Commissioners and wishes them a productive and successful term in office.
Guide Leaders across the island were recognized for their unwavering dedication and commitment through the presentation of service bars and other special awards. Members who provided exceptional service to the association received the Medal of Merit, while non-members were honored with the Thanks Badge (Plaque of Appreciation). Members who demonstrated remarkable courage in overcoming significant challenges and persevered in serving others were awarded the Medal of Fortitude. The challenge shields were awarded to the provinces that had performed exceptionally well in camping, training, and the membership drive. The Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association National Trainer's Certificate and the Diploma'd Trainer's Certificate were awarded at the event.
The organization was honored to present the 50-year Service Award to Ms. Shantha De Silva, a long-standing volunteer leader who has held several key positions and primarily served in the Uva and Western Provinces.
In keeping with tradition, the unveiling of the former Chief Commissioner’s portrait took place at the close of the event.
SLGGA congratulates them on their accomplishments and wishes them every success in the future.
